Undefeated Ivana Petrovic’s title fight cancelled due to injury

Undefeated Norwegian champion Ivana Petrovic was set to defend her flyweight title at ARES 11 on January 20. However, her opponent Ewelina Woźniak recently pulled out of the fight due to an injury.

Petrovic recently commented on the unfortunate situation on Instagram.

“Unfortunately Ewelina got injured and my title defense fight in January is cancelled. This is the fight game and these things happens, I wish her a quick recovery,” Petrovic wrote.

Ivana Petrovic first-ever female champion in Ares FC

In October Ivana Petrovic got historic as she became the first-ever female champion in Ares FC’s history. The 28-year-old defeated Alexandra Tekenah via a third-round submission to win the flyweight strap.

With the dominant victory, the 28-year-old Norwegian fighter is still undefeated with five professional wins.

 

Ivana Petrovic made her pro debut in July 2021, defeating Joanne Doyle via a second-round TKO. She then took another TKO win against Alline Torquato at FCR 10 in November last year.

In February 2022, she made her ARES FC debut with a first-round TKO win over Dorota Norek, just to bounce back two months later with another win against Marta Waliczek to get a shot at the promotion’s flyweight gold.
