Finnish UFC veteran Makwan “Mr. Finland” Amirkhani just clashed with Austria’s Mochamed Machaev in a lightweight tournament bout at OKTAGON 54.
Amirkhani was laughing and talking to his opponent as his opponent landed good strikes. The Finnish fighter secured a takedown but didn’t get much done.
In the second round, Amirkhani threatened with a submission attempt, but when his opponent got out the fight completely turned. Machaev poured it on as “Mr. Finland” got more and more tired.
Just seconds into the third round, Machaev landed a clean lead left hook that put an end to the fight.
“I didn’t expect him to take me down. He was tougher than I thought,” Machaev said after the fight.
