Swedish boxer Agnes Alexiusson lost the opening bout at the 2024 Paris Olympics after a tough fight against María José Palacios from Ecuador. It was the 28-year-old’s second Olympic Games.
In a recent Instagram post, she commented on her tough loss against the Ecuadorian.
“So there’s a lot worse things than being a two time Olympian but I’m beyond disappointede after losing the opening bout at the Olympics again,” Alexiusson wrote. “This is not the story I wanted for myself. Won the first round lost the second, thought I came back in the third but it wasn’t enough to get the decision. I’m most disappointed that I wasn’t my best self in there that day and that I couldn’t enjoy the experience. I had so much more to give.”
Agnes Alexiusson and Nebil Ibrahim represented Sweden
Fellow Swedish boxer Nebil Ibrahim won his debu Olympic fight against Wasim Abusal, with 5-0 on the scorecards, but lost his second against World Champion, and No. 1 ranked boxer, Abdumalik Khalokov.
