The Alex Pereira accusations first came to light in a slideshow that Meredith Brown, 21, posted to her TikTok page @mere_g_brown, labelling the 36-year-old Pereira “a fucking predator that likes to rape girls in the ass”. In the post, that has since been deleted, she did not provide much context but said that she had now found the courage to share her story.
“I know some people won’t believe me and think I’m ‘clout chasing’ and stuff like that but I just wanna feel normal again and I’m hoping maybe me finding the courage to tell my story is the first step in that,” she added in the caption.
Brown later followed up, detailing her story at length in three separate videos while highlighting some of the comments doubting her claim on the first post. Brown said the incident occurred at a hotel during UFC 302 fight week in Newark, New Jersey after her and a friend was invited to meet and hang out with Pereira and an unnamed translator. According to Brown, she ended up going to bed with Pereira but pushed him off multiple times as he tried to make sexual advances, prompting the UFC star to get angry. Pereira then allegedly told his translator to leave the hotel room with Brown’s friend, before having his way with Brown who says she was terrified.
Brown currently has over 55 000 followers on TikTok. The initial slideshow had racked up at least 250 000 views on the platform before getting taken down, while the three follow-up videos have almost half a million views combined and remain public on her account as of this writing.
