If you didn’t know it before, Andreas Gustafsson’s power is absolutely devastating. Proof to that is the post on Instagram by his latest opponent Pat Pytlik.

“I’m not sure what people mean when they say “tough.” I’ve always assumed it’s a word everyone who steps into an MMA cage can use but it feels wrong when someone calls me tough. I’m the kind of person who keeps coming from the moment the bell rings until it ends. People say a lot, but if you want to beat me, you’re going to have to put me away,” Pytlik wrote.

“It’s hard to be afraid of anyone I fight when, in truth, I’m more afraid of whatever that part of myself is. I’ve had it my whole life—it’s helped me achieve great things but has also pushed me to breaking points numerous times. Laying in a hospital with a broken face was the necessary outcome to beating me; if I could have kept going, I would have without question. Because of this, I can look myself in the mirror for the rest of my life, knowing I behaved as a fighter should.”

Andreas Gustafsson: “I was a bit surprised by his strength”

After the tough fight at Dana White’s Contender Series, Andreas Gustafsson had nothing but praise for his opponent.

“I was a bit surprised by his strength,” the Swede said at the post-fight press conference. “I did think he was that strong, more kind of a striking opponent. He had a good defense against my wrestling, but I had better condition and strength. In the second round I maintained the pace and mauled him. A fucking warrior, I really like that guy. I think I know how he feels about losing a UFC contract. You put everything into this fight and it didn’t go his way. I feel for him, I really do, he’s a great guy.”
