Legendary former UFC heavyweight title challenger Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva will return for at least one more fight.
Currently riding a 11-fight losing skid, “Bigfoot” announced in a Tuesday Instagram post that he will take on TUF 28 winner Juan Espino in a fight named “The Farewell”.
At the moment it’s not clear if it will be an MMA, special rules, or boxing fight.
The fight card will take place at the Gran Canaria Arena in Las Palmas, Spain, on March 23.
“Bigfoot’s” losing skid dates back to UFC 190 in August 2015, when he defeated Soa Palelei via a second-round TKO. Since then he has fought in Glory Kickboxing and Bare Knuckle FC among other promotions.
During his years as a professional MMA fighter he tested himself against some of the absolute best fighters to ever enter the cage. The list includes UFC champions like Daniel Cormier, Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez as well as the all-time great Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko.
In fact, Silva is one of the few heavyweights to defeat the legendary Emelianenko.
Juan Espino retired from MMA in 2021 due to injuries.
