Swedish bantamweight prospect Bartosz Wojcikiewicz is set to return to action and fight for gold at the upcoming Superior Challenge 27: Legends event in Stockholm on March 16.
As previously reported, he’ll be facing Portugal’s Vinicius Ferreira for the vacant title. It’s a big opportunity and “The Destroyer” now plans to capitalize and catch the UFC’s attention by winning spectacularly.
“It feels amazing to be back,” says Wojcikiewicz, who’s been sidelined for over a year due to injuries, when speaking to Frontkick following the fight announcement. “I’m happy to be healthy and be able to prepare properly first and foremost, and it feels great to be fighting for the title against a dangerous opponent like Vinicius, because frankly he’s a finisher.”
Wojcikiewicz elaborates:
“He always brings the fight and tries to go for the finish. That being said, I certainly don’t think that he’s as complete of a fighter as I am, absolutely not. And I just feel that so much that I have improved both technically and physically in every aspect, and the fact that I am healthy now which I’m very grateful for, I just see me being too much for him. I think I’ll finish the fight in the second or third round.”

Bartosz Wojcikiewicz: Win by finish could open doors to UFC or Dana White’s Contender Series
Superior Challenge’s championship belt has been around for ages and has been held by UFC contenders and MMA pioneers over the years. Should Wojcikiewicz become the new bantamweight champ, he’ll have a 10-1 record which could certainly put him on the map as far as bigger promotions are concerned.
Wojcikiewicz is hoping a win by stoppage will be enough for the UFC to take notice.
“I definitely believe winning the belt by finish will open up the doors to either UFC or Contender Series,” Wojcikiewicz says. “Are there other promotions I could sign with? Absolutely. If the terms are right, most definitely. However the UFC is my goal. I can go through Contender Series or just jump right into the UFC. We’ll see.”
Most importantly, Wojcikiewicz now hopes to stay healthy and fight more frequently going forward.
“My goal is to be more active this year, as long as I’m healthy and my body allows it. Of course, I hope everything leads me to where I want. But I need to stay healthy and active, that’s what’s most important to me right now.”
