Bellator 301 just took place at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois, with a welterweight title bout serving as the headliner.

Reigning welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov entered on an impressive 27 fight winning streak and was seen by many as the best welterweight outside of the UFC. In the third round of a fairly competitive fight Jackson landed a devastating left straight that wobbled Amosov. Jackson followed up with shots until he face planted Amosov, securing the welterweight title by way of vicious knockout!

The KO was a huge upset as it put an end to the massive winning streak Amosov had retained earlier.

Bantamweight title bout

In the co-main event we saw a title bout between reigning champion Sergio Pettis and Patchy Mix interim champion Patchy Mix. Pettis entered the fight as the bantamweight champion and was unbeaten in Bellator, however he ended up succumbing to a rear naked choke in the second round, tapping out to the interim champ who unified the titles.

Aside from that AJ McKee would completely dominate Sidney Outlay over the course of three rounds. Alexander Shabliy would also put on a masterclass performance over Patricky Pitbull winning every single round of the five round lightweight grand prix.
