Confident Alexander Gustafsson on return to light heavyweight: ”It’s my division”

On Saturday Alexander Gustafsson is making his return to the octagon to face No. 11 ranked Nikita Krylov. On the UFC media day, the former title challenger was confident when talking about returning to the light heavyweight division again.

”It’s mine, my division. Feels good to be back, My body feels good. That’s it, it’s my division,” Gustafsson said.

The “Mauler” feels that his career is getting a bit of a restart with the move back down to light heavyweight, event though he felt strong as a heavyweight.

”A little bit because it’s been a while. But I’m just going to continue to beat people up, that’s what we do. I’m really happy to be back,” Gustafsson said. “The heavyweight division was a good experience for me, even though I lost the fight, but still a good experience for me. Happy to be back in light heavy to perform, to get the W back.”

Alexander Gustafsson: “I focus on beat Nikita up”

“Mauler” is trying not to look too much into the future but instead focus on what’s in front of him.

”I dont’ focus too much about the champ right now, I focus on beat Nikita up. That’s my plan and I need to get that W back and get back in there again. That’s my focus. I beat Nikita up and someone else up and then I’m back in the mix and then we see what happens.”

However, the Swede knows what he needs to do to fight for the title again.

”I need to beat people up. That’s the plan”
