On March 25, Cornelia Holm will write history as the first Swedish female to fight in the major MMA organization PFL.

The promotion just revealed that Poland’s Marta “Wadera” Waliczek will be Holm’s opponent in her first fight in PFL’s European tournament.

The Polish 35-year-old has a similar professional record as the Swede, with six wins and five losses, compared to Holm’s 5-5 record.

In her last fight Waliczek defeated Erilene Rayla Nascimento via unanimous decision at Qadya MMA 2.

Cornelia Holm will compete for the $100,000 championship

In the PFL Europe tournament the Swede will compete for the $100,000 championship, as well as a chance to earn a spot in the promotion’s global $1 million tournament season.

“This is the opportunity of a lifetime. I’ve been waiting for this, and I’m here to go all the way,” Cornelia Holm recently told Frontkick. “PFL Europe is the first step and I’m looking to win the entire thing and hopefully moving on to the world league thereafter.”

The fight between Holm and Waliczek will take place at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle, UK.
