On Tuesday, Swedish powerhouse Andreas “Bane” Gustafsson (10-2) will have his biggest fight to date as he steps into the cage at Dana White Contender Series.
He will take on Pat Pytlik (9-1) in the main fight of the card. Canada’s Pytlik is a dangerous opponent with all nine wins coming via stoppage. He’s been fighting on the regional American scene since his debut in 2014.
“For me it’s just a fight. Of course the opportunity is much bigger. You can have that UFC contract if you win the fight,” Gustafsson said in an interview with Fight Wave.
“The fight itself is just another fight for me. Just one more guy I have to get past. No special feelings about it, only that it’s the next step to the UFC, you know. It feels great. It’s a great opportunity for me.”
Andreas Gustafsson is used to deliver the action. He and Finland’s Toni Lampinen delivered one of last year’s absolute best fights at FCR 16. The bloody war was awarded with the prestigious UFC Fight Pass 2023 Fight of the Year.
