Swedish fighter Freddy Castro just faced seasoned UFC veteran Batgerel Danaa in his debut under the Karate Combat umbrella.
The Swede started the first round on light feet and they both threw a couple of good strikes right away. Castro landed well-aimed kicks while Batgerel tried to find the mark with his heavy right hand. Towards the end of the round, Gonzalez threw a couple of really solid kicks.
All three judges gave Freddy the first round with 10-9.
However, Batgerel came out with all guns blazing right and dropped the Swede with a hard right after just a few seconds of round two. He then followed up with ground-and-pound until the referee stepped in and stopped the action.
“A crazy fight,” a happy Batgerel said in an post-fight interview.
Swedish striking specialist Freddy Castro made his MMA debut at Superior Academy in September. The Swedish Thai and kickboxing champion has competed in a variety of organizations around the world and is used to taking fights at short notice.
“You never know with me. One second I can be lying on the beach with a coconut smoothie and then out of nowhere I have a match in Karate Combat in two weeks,” Castro recently told Maximum Sports. “You never know with Freddy!”
