On Saturday, Wasi Adeshina returns for his biggest test to date as he makes his Cage Warriors debut in Dublin, Ireland. Adeshina will face the experienced Decky McAleenan in a featherweight bout on the main card.

In a new interview with Frontkick’s sister site Maximum Sports, “The Nigerian Jaguar” opens up on his biggest fight to date and shares his thoughts on his promising MMA career.

“It’s been a crazy journey I have to say, I never thought it would be like this. I’m just happy that all the hard work eventually starts to pay off,” Adeshina said.

How do you feel about fighting in Ireland?

“I don’t think so much about that, because I can’t control what’s happening on the other side of the world. What I can control is my world, because at the end of the day, that’s what’s most important,” Adeshina said.

Wasi Adeshina expects a brutal fight in Dublin

With four straight wins in 2022 and 2023, Adeshina has quickly become one of the most exciting fighters in the local Swedish MMA scene.

In his last fight at FCR 15, the heavy-hitting featherweight clashed with the tough Glenn McVeigh. The fight went the distance, and in the end, “The Nigerian Jaguar” stood as the winner via unanimous decision.

On Saturday he will face another big test in McAleenan at the 3Arena in Dublin.

“There are a lot of things that stand out with my opponent, but that’s why we train. We train to solve this puzzle,” Wasi Adeshina said.

What can the fans expect from the fight?

“War.”
