Swedish light heavyweight “King” Karl Albrektsson just fought former Cage Warriors champion Karl Moore in the first fight on the main card at Bellator 285. The event is live at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
In the very last seconds of the first round, Albrektsson dropped Moore with a brutal short elbow, landed on top of and blasted his opponent with heavy ground-and-pound that almost finished the fight. Eventually, a shaken Moore was saved by the bell.
By the start of the second round, Moore still looked shaky from Albrektssons’ heavy shots in the first. However, the former Cage Warriors champion came back strong, and with less than two minutes left of the round he was able to finish the fight via a tight submission.
The tough loss snapped the Swede’s four-fight winning streak, that includes two victories in Bellator and two in the Swedish MMA promotion Superior Challenge.
Karl Albrektsson is now 2-2 in Bellator, and 13-4 overall.
With the win, the former Cage Warriors champion Moore is 10-2, with 2-0 in Bellator.
