Only four fights into his UFC career Khamzat Chimaev has grown into a monster in the organization. The hype surrounding the Swede can only be compared to Conor McGregors rise a few years back.
With relentless aggression and strong physics he defetead his opponents in dominant fashion since the UFC debut in July 2020. However, according to “Borz” himself it’s not his physics and skills, but his mental game, that makes him stand out from the rest of the UFC fighters.
“I think it’s like most important, 99 percent, is what you think about things,” Chimaev said in latest episode of Up Close With John Gooden. “If you think ‘I’m gonna kill everybody, I’m this, I’m this’, if you think, it will become true.”

Looking to write history: “Nobody did that shit”
The rising Swedish superstar has bigger goals than just being a normal UFC champion. In fact, being normal is something “Borz” never wants to be.
“I want to take three belts. Nobody did that shit. Conor took two belts and DC took two belts, who took two belts more? Adesanya he did try, he got nothing,” Chimaev said to Gooden. “I don’t want to be a normal guy. I’ve told you before. Everybody tries to do everything that Conor did, become like him and make money like him. I want to be different. If I get the money I get the money, but in the UFC with like fights and belts I want to do everything different. I don’t want to be a normal guy like everybody been before. I have ten fights, ten finishes, nobody have that in the UFC.”
