In less than two weeks, Khamzat Chimaev will face Nate Diaz in a five-rounder at UFC 279 in Las Vegas. Chimaev’s former opponent Li “Leech” Jingliang recently appeared at The MMA Hour, where he via a translator said that underdog Diaz could pull off a win against “Borz”.

“I can’t give you a number about the chance, but we all know based on the statistics and the data, Khamzat is the favorite Nate is the underdog,” Jingliang said. “But I think Khamzat has never fought in a five-round fight.”

“Another big X-factor is Nate Diaz is Nate Diaz — you don’t know what happens if the fight goes to the fifth round and the last minute and last seconds if you fight with Nate Diaz. What we really need is a miracle, is a surprise in the fight, and I believe Nate Diaz is the guy that can give you this.”

Li Jingliang will fight Tony Ferguson next

Just like Chimaev, Li Jingliang will also fight at UFC 279. On the main card he will face former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson who moves up to the welterweight division.

Even though Ferguson goes up a weight class and rides a four-fight losing streak, Jingliang takes him very seriously.

“I believe Tony knows what he’s doing now,” Jingliang said. “He’s been in this business for a very long time. I think for each fighter, we just fight for ourselves, for our families, so I don’t think we need to care what others think about how this fight goes.”
