On Saturday April 20, Swedish-Afghanistan lightweight Sahil Siraj will be back in action to finally face his rival Akonne Wanliss at OKTAGON 56 in Birmingham.
The fight was expected to take place on March 2 but was cancelled due to an altercation between Wanliss and Siraj’s team.
The Swede’s manager Majdi Shammas, who also represents the likes of Khamzat Chimaev and Alexander Gustafsson, recently gave his opinion on what happened in March.
“I don’t justify anything of what happened that night from either side. And at the end of the day, if you provoke a guy long enough there’s going to be reactions,” Shammas said.
The rematch between Siraj and Wanliss has become one of the most hyped OKTAGON fights in 2024. It will take place on the latters home turf in Birmingham, England.
“Everything goes very good, He’s always ready,” coach Reza Frotan said about Siraj’s upcoming fight.
The OKTAGON 56 card is headlined by a flyweight title bout between Aaron Aby and Sam Creasey.
