Swedish boxer Patricia Berghult (17-2) just challenged the interim WBC super lightweight champion, Britain’s Chantelle Cameron (20-1) in Birmingham, England.
Cameron took command from the opening bell and Berghult had to give her all just to stay in the fight. The Swede stayed on her feet but took a lot of heavy punches from the British champ.
Cameron was the strongest in nine out of ten rounds and stood as the winner via unanimous decision with 99–91, 100–90 and 98–92 on the scorecards.
Patricia Berghult has two pro losses
The Swede previously held the WBC super welterweight title but lost to Natasha Jonas in September 2022. Saturday’s loss is her second pro defeat ever.
Cameron had a 1-1 record with Irish superstar Katie Taylor in 2023. After defeating Taylor in March, she lost the hyped rematch in November.
Cameron then defeated Elhem Mekhaled to capture the interim WBC belt.
