Rountree suspended but UFC 307 main event goes on
The UFC 307 main event is cleared to go!
Khalil Rountree was suspended Thursday, for self-reported positive drug test, but the duration will expire prior to Rountree’s Oct. 5 title bout against reigning light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.
“I just want to say thank you guys for looking into the details of the matter,” Rountree said.
“I’m glad he showed up, and the self-reporting obviously had a great influence on the commission’s decision here,” NAC chairman Dallas Haun said. “I applaud him for self-reporting.”
Dana White teases Conor McGregor news
UFC CEO Dana White teased big news coming up soon, including the latest about Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor.
“Conor news coming up, we’ve got Oliveira news coming up,” White said. “We’ve got Chandler news coming up. We’ve got Max Holloway news coming up. All that good shit. Coming soon.”
Nurmagomedov addresses suspension for failed drug test
Reigning Bellator lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov has finally opened up about the failed drug test that’s kept him out of action since October, 2023.
Nurmagomedov was handed a six-month suspension and had his title defense win over Brent Primus at Bellator 300 overturned to a no contest due to the failed drug test.
“I didn’t do nothing. I know who I am,” Nurmagomedov recently told MMA Junkie. “I never did something like steroids or something like that. People only talk about this because they cannot win (against) us, and they have to say something, and they chose this way, ‘Oh, this guy do steroids.’ OK, guys. You can talk whatever you want, but who cares?”
