Josefine Knutsson’s opponent announced
Frontkick was first to report that undefeated Swedish UFC strawweight Josefine “Thunder” Knutsson will return to actian at UFC Fight Night 249 on December 14. Now it’s announced that she will face former training partner Piera Rodriguez.
Khamzat Chimaev meets Robert Whittaker in a potential No. 1 contender bout at UFC 308.
Rising middleweight contender Caio Borralho expects Chimaev to dominate the former champion on the mat.
“We spent some time in Sweden with him, training with him for his training camp against Nate Diaz, the fight that never happened,” Borralho told Submission Radio. “But I was there training with him everyday, was his main sparring partner for this camp. I think it’s a very tough fight for Whittaker because Khamzat is a very great, great wrestler. And there’s one thing about Khamzat that people don’t realize too much, like they don’t know what kind of level to expect from him. They know by seeing, but when you feel it, I think it’s a little bit different.”
Muhammad suggests Rakhmonov to fight Usman to earn title shot
Newly crowned welterweight champion Belal Muhammad has recently been vocal on who he wants to defend his belt against.
“I think Shavkat and Usman should fight to find the real number one contender,” Muhammad wrote on social media.
Rakhmonov, however, recently claimed the UFC offered him a title shot but Muhammad declined.
“Actually, I’ve already been offered a fight to fight Belal and I accepted the fight against Belal,” Rakhmonov told MMA Fighting. “But unfortunately, he declined to fight me due to the timing issues. He wasn’t ready to defend his belt on that time.”
“Before he became a champion, and after he won the belt, he said he’s going to be an active champion and he will defend his belt more often, but at the moment he wasn’t backing up what he said, you know?”
