Jessica Andrade sues ex-coach for $2 million
Jessica Andrade has filed a lawsuit against former coach and manager Gilliard Parana, accusing him of embezzlement. She accuses him of stealing a total of $2 million.
The former UFC strawweight champion worked with Parana for more than a decade.
“We have a lawsuit going about TransferWise and the money that was transferred to other people I’ve never seen in my life,” Andrade told MMA Fighting.
“The lawsuit is moving in the United States and he’s in Brazil, so I don’t know how it’s going to work. He was quite smart, he left before things happened.”
Parana responded in a statement to MMA Fighting.
“Jessica always had full access to her things and was always intelligent enough to know everything that happened in her financial life. And I was never the guy who took care of her financial life. I was just her advisor when she needed it and asked for it. But all of this will be proven if there is a coherent investigation,” Parana said.
Caio Borralho promised “fun fight” next
Rising middleweight star Caio Borralho claimed that UFC chief business officer Hunter Campbell told him that he can expect a good fight after his massive performance against Jared Cannonier.
“He said, ‘In the top 5 of this sport, you can’t be a guy that quits, that throws caution to the wind and fights reckless, and you showed that today,” Borralho said. “You showed quality and heart, and we’ll see what we have for you. I don’t know if it’s going to be Dricus, but I’ll find a fun fight for you, and then you’ll go for the belt.’”
“I hope it’s Adesanya — respectfully, I’m planting that seed little by little.”
