Ailin Perez claims she’s the ‘Khabib Nurmagomedov of the women’s divisions’
Rising bantamweight star Ailin Perez (11-2) is on a four-fight winning streak in the UFC. After this past Saturday’s win against Darya Zheleznyakova, she compared herself to one of the biggest fighters the sport has ever seen.
“Is there any doubt? I’m the Khabib Nurmagomedov of the women’s divisions,” Perez said at a post-fight presser. “Every single fight that I’ve had in the UFC, I’ve taken the fighters down. That shows it.”
Kayla Harrison preparing as backup for UFC 307
Former PFL champion Kayla Harrison is ready to take a short-notice fight for the bantamweight title at UFC 307.
“If I have to step in on short notice and fight, I will, absolutely. One thousand percent. On 30 seconds’ notice I will step [in],” Harrison said.
Renato Moicano: “He puts too much pressure”
After this past Saturday’s big win, Renato Moicano claimed he still has respect for Benoit Saint Denis. However, he argued that BSD needs to step up his training to reach his full potential. and what he did in this division,” Moicano said.
“I think he’s very strong. I think he’s young. But I think he needs to work on his game. Because what makes him dangerous is what makes him vulnerable. He puts too much pressure. If he can touch you, he’s going to break you,” Moicano said at the post-fight press conference.
The Brazilian suffered a separated shoulder prior to his fight, but was still able to get the win.
Brendan Allen: “I’m disappointed in myself”
Middleweight prospect Brendan Allen offered no excuses for a poor performance in the co-main event at UFC Paris.
“It wasn’t my night tonight,” Allen wrote on Instagram. “Made bad decisions. Bad adjustments. I did something wrong and hat’s off to Imavov. It was his night, it wasn’t mine. It sucks. I’m disappointed in myself. But luckily I’m young, I’ll be back. Try to be better. Thanks to everyone for the support, thanks for the love. I still think I’ll be champion one day but just another long journey to the top again.”
