Hooker confirms plan to fight McGregor
Conor McGregor recently told Bloody Elbow that he will be fighting Dan Hooker in Saudi Arabia on February 1. The promotion has not confirmed or denied the claimed fight, but Hooker said he and McGregor spoke in person on Saturday, and that they just need the UFC to get the deal done.
“I’m on board. He’s on board. We just need to get the UFC on board and we’ll get this thing across the line,”Hooker told Submission Radio.
Royval: “I see a title shot next”
The former UFC title challenger Brandon Royval is aiming for a new title shot after Saturday’s important win against Tatsuro Taira.
“I see a title shot next. There’s no other way about it,” Royval said at the post-fight press conference. “I have a win over the whole top five of the division. I’m all about rematches, but with that being said, I earned my way to a title shot. I took a short notice against the No. 1, I just took out the hottest prospect in the division. I think a title shot is what’s next for me, and I’ll be the backup for the title fight in December.”
Reigning flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja is set to defend his belt against Japanese star Kai Asakura at UFC 310 on December 7 in Las Vegas.
Bivol reveals new plan to beat Beterbiev in a rematch
Dmitry Bivol was defeated by Artur Beterbiev at this past Saturday’s massive undisputed light heavyweight title fight.
Bivol wants an immediate rematch and explains how he intends to beat his rival next time.
“I want to improve on my movement. I didn’t move enough. I have to move more and use more counter-punches. I just have to add more,” Bivol said.
“He has good conditioning. He was trying to take the last rounds. This is what I don’t like. I didn’t do these three rounds perfect.”
