On Saturday August 17 (Sunday 18 in Australia), the UFC will return to Perth with UFC 305.
The card is headlined by a real grudge match where reigning middleweight champion Dricuss du Plessis will take on former champ Israel Adesanya.
Du Plessis won the strap against Sean Strickland in January. Adesanya is looking to be a three-time champion with a win against the South African. The fight has been long in the making since both 185ers have been trading jabs on social media for the past year.
In the co-main event, Australia’s own flyweight hero Kai Kara-France will face former title challenger Steve Erceg. No. 7 ranked Erceg comes from a title fight loss against Alexandre Pantoja and is eager to get back in the mix.
High-profile lightweight bout
The UFC 305 fight card will also feature a high-profile lightweight bout where Poland’s Mateuz Gamrot will take on New Zealand’s Dan Hooker.
Both fighters have been at the top of the lightweight division for a long time and the fight for sure has a ‘People’s Main Event’ vibe all over it.
