The red-hot Zelim Zubairaev just took on Axel Nobou on the main card of FCR 21. Ahead of the clash, Nobou has never had a fight going the distance – win or lose.
Zubairaev was originally scheduled to face Nabbe Malki, but the Stockholm fan favorite was forced to pull out due to injury.
In the beginning of the first round, the pairing traded on the feet. Zubairaev was the most aggressive and landed a couple of good kicks early. Midway through the fight he threw a hard spinning kick to the body of Nobou. With two minutes left, Zubairaev dropped his opponent with a hard punch but chose to let him up again.
In the second round, Zubairaev dragged his opponent to the mat and found top position. The pairing eventually got to their feet and started trading again.
With two minutes left, it turned into a more of a grappling match. Nobou was looking for a submission, but it was Z who found the rear-naked-choke and won the fight.
“He’s a real man,” Zubairaev said about his opponent. “Zlatko, give all my money to this guy.”
