Canelo Alvarez just took on Jaime Munguia in an undisputed super middleweight title fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Munguia put on a fight, but the Mexican superstar was just too good. In round 4, Canelo landed a perfect right uppercut that put Munguia on the canvas for the first time in his career.

The bout went the distance and Canelo eventually stood as the winner with 117-110, 116-111 and 115-112 on the judges’ scorecards, after landing the harder and cleaner shots throughout the fight.

Canelo landed 234 of 536 punches and connected with 49.7% of his power shots.

“He’s strong, but he’s a little slow,” Canelo said of Munguia after the fight. “I can see every punch. Sometimes he got me because I get so confident. But, you know, like I say .. I have this kind of experience. That’s why I’m the best.”

“Right now I can ask for whatever I want, and I can do whatever I want.”

The boxing card also featured the interim WBC welterweight title bout between Mario Barrios and Fabian Maidana.
