After many years of hard work WBC European Champion Ellis ”El Jefe” Barboza has now signed with ONE Championship!
The English Muay Thai fighter announced the news via social media.
”Pleased to announce I have signed a 6 fight deal with the leading combat promotion on the planet,” Ellis wrote.
”Alhamdullilah! Years of hard work brought me here. Vision now become my reality. A new player has arrived. I make my debut very soon. It’s not one to be missed.”
As of now no date or opponent has been announced, but expect the news to be publicised on Frontkick.online. In hismost recent fight he defeated Alex Kenton via unanimous decision for the WBC title at 53.5kg.
It was Ellis’ mother who pushed him into combat sports, in hopes of teaching him self defense. Ellis has admitted he had no intention of competing, but went from kickboxing to Muay Thai and continued excelling, getting to where he’s at today.
