Legendary Swedish UFC fighter Alexander ”The Mauler” Gustafsson is back in in his beloved Allstars Training Center to preparing for a possible return to action.
The former three-time light heavyweight title challenger sits down with Frontkick, ”The Mauler” to talk about being back in training and what could be next for him as a UFC fighter.
”I don’t think about the competing part so much, if it comes it comes. Time will tell. Focusing on myself to get back in shape right now. I love this game, I love to train,” Gustafsson says.
At Allstars Training Center he trains with fellow UFC light heavyweight Anton Turkalj, as well as rising amateur fighter Najib Adams, who represented Sweden in the IMMAF World Cup in Albania a few months back.
”I love to be around the guys to do some grappling, do some wrestling, hit some pads, do some light sparring. I’ve been doing this my whole career basically so I just love to be back and do what I love to do.”
Alexander Gustafsson is still on the roster
Alexander Gustafsson is still on the UFC roster, but has not competed since July 2022 when he lost to Nikita Krylov in London. That fight was his first since 2020.
”I’ve been in the UFC since 2009, I’m still in the business, I’m still under contract, and yeah, if I fight it will be in the UFC absolutely,” Gustafsson says.
”If a fight is on the table let’s talk about that and let’s see how it feels and take it from there.”
