We just saw a competitive featherweight bout between Eryk Walecki and Sakhi ”Machete” Qambari at Fight Club Rush 14 in Västerås.
In the start of the first round, both physically strong featherweights used their great footwork, trading heavy kicks. The fight took to the ground at the end of the round.
The second round turned out to be a competitive grappling match where Walecki looked like the stronger grappler. However, ”Machete” landed solid ground-and-poundin the final minute. In the back-and-forth third round, ”Machete” fought at the same high pace and landed heavy ground-and-pound.
After the final bell Sakhi Qambari stood as the winner via unanimous decision with 29-28, 30-27, 29-28 on the judges’ scorecards.
”I had control and did damage to him,” Qambari summarized the fight in the post-fight interview.
With the win, Qambari is 1-1 as a professional fighter.
