This past Saturday’s Fight Club Rush 19 delivered a lot of entertaining MMA action that left no MMA fans disappointed.

With a bantamweight title fight, Nordic derbys and crazy knockouts, the night really had it all.

Check out Frontkick’s Tobias Lindkvist’s five biggest takeaways from FCR 19!

Hecher Sosa is the real deal

With five straight wins and a FCR bantamweight title, Spanish bantamweight Hecher Sosa has proven to be one of Europe’s best bantamweights. If the promotion ever had a fighter who deserved a title, it’s the hard-working Spaniard who fought six times under the FCR banner.

I feel like Sosa is ready to take the next step in 2024 and move on to the international stage.

If the UFC goes to Spain – as they most likely will do as Ilia Topuria is the promotion’s new featherweight champion – Hecher Sosa should definitely be on the card!

Moe Ahmadi vs. David Jacobsson

Never underestimate Moe ”Slimboy” Ahmadi!

Just about one minute into his fight against Christian Stigenberg, the fan favorite secured a tight rear-naked-choke that gave him his sixth stoppage win. Time and again, the slick submission artist proved that he only needs one opening to finish any opponent they put in front of him.

After the fight, David Jacobsson entered the cage to call out Ahmadi, who seemed up for the challenge.

The intriguing fight could very well serve as a co-main or even main event of any FCR card. Let’s book it!

Baysangur is a star in the making

The biggest talk of the FCR press conference was Baysangur Makaev’s funny and relentless rants as he took over the microphone to shoot down his opponent Erik Wahrolen.

In the cage, Makaev backed up his words with a brutal second-round TKO win to cement his position as one of the top dogs in the Scandinavian lightweight division.

I hope FCR realises the potential star they have in Baysangur and keep feeding him more interesting matchups. Why not a title fight in featherweight or lightweight?

Fan favorite Raymond Johansson

Another fighter with star quality is Raymond Johansson who has a bright future in the Scandinavian MMA scene.

With numerous fantastic quotes at the press conference and a violent energy in the cage, the fighter has everything it takes to grow into a big name. FCR should definitely make sure to keep him on the roster.

Win or lose – Johansson just has a certain quality that engages MMA fans!

Give Rohullah a rematch

Former Afghan boxing champion Rohullah Yousofi showed that he’s a full-fledged MMA fighter as he defeated the skilled Renato Vidovic via unanimous decision.

Yousofi stepped in to save the day on short-notice in the title fight against Jonny Touma this past  November, and made a case for getting another shot at the title with a full camp behind him.

With a champion like Touma and a contender like Yousofi, the flyweight division has never been hotter in Sweden. Let’s make it happen!
