BREAKING: Swedish prospect Josefine “Thunder” Knutsson set for ‘Road to UFC’ bout in Singapore
Publicerat

Josefine Knutsson, one of Sweden’s most highly-touted MMA prospects, could soon earn herself a UFC contract.
Frontkick just confirmed with Knutsson’s team that the undefeated strawweight standout has agreed to take on South Korean grappler Ye Dam Seo in conjunction with the ”Road to UFC” tournaments in Singapore before the upcoming UFC 275 pay-per-view card.
”Road to UFC” features opening rounds of four different eight-men tournaments on June 9 and June 10. Josefine Knutsson vs. Ye Dam Seo is not part of any tournament, but rather a super fight of sorts going down on June 11 where the winner has a big chance to get noticed and signed by the world’s leading MMA promotion.

Coach predicts Josefine Knutsson will ’crush’ Ye Dam Seo
Josefine Knutsson, nicknamed ”Thunder”, is 3-0 as a pro and trains with some of the biggest stars in Sweden and Europe at the Allstars Training Center in Stockholm. Prior to making the move to MMA, she competed on the world stage in kickboxing and reached the final in K-1 World Grand-Prix’s historic women’s flyweight championship tournament in Japan back in 2019. She’s also a former IFMA Muay Thai world champion.
Thus far, Knutsson has dominated all her opponents in MMA, most recently defeating The Ultimate Fighter 23 contestant Lanchana Green by unanimous decision at Fight Club Rush 10.
”Josefine Knutsson’s goal is to become the UFC champion and it will be a dream come true for her to earn a contract after all the hard work we have put in. Ye Dam Seo is a worthy opponent but there’s no doubt in my mind that Josefine will crush her. After this fight, everyone will see that she’s ready for the UFC,” Knutsson’s longtime coach and mentor Sanja Trbojevic tells Frontkick.
Ye Dam Seo has a professional record of 6-2 and is currently riding a four-fight win streak.
