Undisputed world champion Katie Taylor will take on Amanda Serrano in massive rematch

One of the greatest women’s boxing fights of all-time is getting run back in May, as Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will clash in a highly anticipated rematch for Taylor’s undisputed lightweight championship.

At last night’s boxing event at MSG’ Hulu Theater, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn announced the high profile rematch that will take place on Taylors home turf in Dublin, Ireland, on May 20.

The fight will be the undefeated champion’s first ever in her home country.

In their first bout, at a sold out Madison Square Garden, Katie Taylor defeated Amanda Serrano via split decision, with 94–96 in favour of Serrano, and 97–93, and 96–93 in favour of Taylor.

The fight was promoted as the ’biggest women’s fight of all time’ and lived up to all expectations, as it turned out to be perhaps the absolute best boxing fight of 2022.

Since then, the 36-year-old Taylor defeated Karen Elizabeth Carabajal, while Serrano has back-to-back wins against Sarah Mahfoud and Erika Cruz.
