UFC champion blasts steep ticket prices: ”It all just goes back to the UFC”

As UFC returns to The O2 in London with UFC 286, the ticket prices skyrocketed to a level where many MMA fans can’t afford a seat. Several reports show a significant rise compared to past UK events.
Welterweight champion Leon Edwards, who’s trilogy bout with rival Kamaru Usman, headlines the event, recently commented on the steep prices.
“For me, I don’t understand why they’re so high,” Edwards said during a recent appearance on The MMA Hour. “I think ringside, before it went on sale, was like four thousand pounds or dollars. That’s a lot of money, you know? It would be worth it if the fighters got paid more, but it all just goes back to the UFC anyway.”
“People have been messaging me saying, ‘Why is it so expensive?’ I’m like, ‘Mate, I’m not making the prices.’ But, yeah, it’s not good for the fans that can’t afford it. But it will still be a good show either way,” Edwards said.
