Tough loss for Linn Sandström in boxing world title fight

Undefeated WBA world super flyweight champion Clara Lescurat just took on Swedish contender Linn Sandström in a title fight scheduled for 10 two minute rounds.

The fight took place on a boxing card in front of a sold out Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia.

Lescurat was in command during the early part of the fight and the Swede seemed to struggle to be first in the exchanges. By the end of round 7 and Sandström’s coach Tony Del Vecchio was furious with her for not delivering.

After 10 rounds, Lescurat stood as the winner via unanimous decision with 91-99, 93-97 and 90-100 on the scorecards

In the main event of the evening, Australian boxing star Nikita Tszyu returns to the ring for the first time in 2024 to defend his Australian super welterweight title against Danilo Creati.

The talented Tszyu has knocked out all but one of his eight opponents so far.
