Swedish bantamweight Pannie Kianzad is no longer on the UFC roster after suffering three straight losses.

”Banzai” spent a good part of her UFC tenure as a ranked fighter and was close to entering the top 5 at times.

After a tough start in her promotional debut, Kianzad racked up three straight wins, including a splendid win over a former title challenger. Let’s take a look at some of her finest moments in the UFC!

The Swede’s first UFC victory came against Jessica-Rose Clark in November 2019.

The Australian was hyped after her wins against Paige VanZant and Bec Rawlings, but Kianzad put on a solid and convincing performance as she defeated Clark with 30–27 on all three scorecards.

Kianzad continued her string of impressive performances as she took on former bantamweight title challenger Bethe Correia in July 2020. The fight was scheduled for May, at UFC 250, but cancelled due to the relocation of the event, and re-booked for July 26.

Maintaining the momentum from her last fight, against Clark, the Swede put on a great performance against her biggest opponent to date. When the dust settled, all three judges gave Kianzad the win with 30–27, 30–27 and 29–28 on the score cards.

The important win really put the Swede on the map as a future title contender in the bantamweight division.

The Swedish derby

The historic rematch between Pannie Kianzad and Lina Länsberg turned out to be just as exciting as promised.

After three tough and bloody rounds, Kianzad finally stood as the winner by unanimous decision with 29-28 on the scorecards.

The win arguably marked the zenith of Kianzad’s UFC career as she had got her hand raised in five of her last six fights in the promotion.
