”Sean O’Malley is stricken with ‘Conor McGregor curse’”
MMA expert Alan Jouban recently claimed that Sean O’Malley battles the same problems as superstar Conor McGregor.
“O’Malley also has the Conor McGregor curse,” Jouban said. “Where he is not the hammer, and he becomes the nail, and if that opponent starts to style on them, and when they’re not styling and they’re getting styled on, it defeats them.”
“He has similarities to Conor, great ones but he’s also got the Conor McGregor curse where you take away a star’s shine and you watch them just wither right there. He wasn’t up for the big show in this matchup because of that. Merab did everything right in the fight physically but mentally as well. He took that confidence away from O’Malley.”
Sterling out of UFC 307 vs. Evloev due to injury
Former bantamweight title holder Aljamain Sterling is forced to withdraw from his fight vs. Movsar Evloev due to an injury.
“In sparring, I had an injury, not requiring surgery, but I was advised by the UFC medical staff that I will not be able to properly compete in this short of a turnaround,” Sterling said.
The bout was expected to take place on October 5 at UFC 307.
Two fights added to UFC 308 fight card
Farid Basharat vs. Victor Hugo and Said Nurmagomedov vs. Daniel Santos have been added to the upcoming UFC 308 fight card on October 26.
The event is headlined by a featherweight title fight between Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway.
