Glover Teixeira opens door for UFC return
Retired former UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira is slowly getting back the itch to fight. In a recent interview, he opened the door for a potential return to the octagon.
“I’ll do some jiu-jitsu, I wanna do… I don’t know, maybe boxing. Or even go back for some fights in the UFC,” Teixeira said.
“That’s got to be it because it’s hard, man. I’m feeling great, fighting hard with the guys in the gym. I’ve rolled with some wrestlers, training with Sean Strickland and ‘Poatan’. I was doing some light sparring with ‘Poatan’ the other day, and he’s like, ‘F*ck, Glover, you have to come back!’”
Tatsuro Taira hopes to bring back the UFC to Japan
It’s been a long time since the UFC has been to Japan, but with a rising star in Tatsuro Taira it might change.
“I’d love to have UFC back in Japan, and if I’m the star, I want to be that star to bring that back to Japan,” Taira said at Wednesday’s media day at the UFC Apex.
The undefeated Japanese flyweight will headline tomorrow’s UFC fight Night 244 against recent title challenger Brandon Royval.
“I’m definitely focused on this one, but thinking of title fights, I’ve always dreamed and thought about the title fights. It’s something that I always have in mind,” Taira said.
Swedish prospect to make Cage Warriors debut
After delivering six first-round stoppage wins on the regional scene, Swedish prospect Theodor Berggren is set to make his debut in Cage Warriors. He will face Justin Burlinson in a welterweight bout on November 23.
“I am stoked to compeoutside of Sweden for the first time.” Berggren told Frontkick about the upcoming fight. “It will be a blast!”
