On Saturday, Zone Pro League 2 went down in Gothenburg, Sweden featuring professional bouts in both MMA and Muay Thai.
Once again, Zone Pro League delivered exciting matchups that led to crazy action throughout the evening.

Tobias Bohlin vs. Nermin Mehmedagic – MMA
The event started off with a bang to say the least. Tobias Bohlin went in for the kill right away seemed to be on his way to get the stoppage win, but Nermin Mehmedagic somehow flipped the script and ended up taking Bohlin’s back after absorbing a barrage of punches. From there, Mehmedagic managed to pull off a rear-naked choke to get his hand raised.

Ali Mehrvash vs. Robin Sundlöf – Muay Thai
In the second fight, we got to see some Muay Thai action as Robin Sundlöf put on a solid performance against Ali M. Sundlöf relied on his kicks, knees and elbows to pick his opponent apart throughout the three-round contest. Although M held his own at some points, Sundlöf – the more experienced fighter – was one step ahead and walked away with the clear-cut decision win.

Addis Saljevic vs. Robin Enontekiö – MMA
Robin Enontekiö came out aggressive right off the bat and landed a few good punches. Then the momentum shifted as Addis Saljevic answered with a double leg takedown and quickly took Enontekiö’s back – however Enontekiö managed to reverse the position and ended up on top. After passing to mount, Enontekiö started to unleash his ground and pound before the referee had seen enough.

Emma Stonegård vs. Sofia Kosunen – Muay Thai
On paper, Emma Stonegård came in as the clear favourite. And while she walked away with the unanimous decision victory in the end, Sofia K stood her ground and didn’t make it easy for the three-time Swedish champion. The two women put on a hell of a fight that went back and forth from start to finish. Stonegård landed more on the outside, but K was strong in the clinch and had her moments throughout the bout. In round three. Stonegård’s strongest round was round three, however she got a massive cut on her forehead in the last second – before K went down to the ground due to exhaustion right at the buzzer.

Daniel Bergström vs. Henrik Lie – MMA
Here, we got to witness another impressive first-round finish after some back and forth action. Both Henrik Lie and Daniel Bergström was looking to take the fight to the ground and at first it seemed as though Bergström was about to get the rear-naked choke finish. However, Lie slipped out of it and then managed to take Bergström’s back instead just a few moments later. From there, Lie sank in a tight rear-naked choke that left Bergström with no choice but to tap.

Marek Dolansky vs. Merza Akhlaghi – Muay Thai
Hometown favourite Marza Akhlaghi put on one of the more dominating performances on his way to a knockout victory against Marek Dolansky. Akhlaghi was simply the far better fighter, landing pretty much at will. He rocked Dolansky multiple times in round one and scored two knockdowns in round two before sending his opponent to the canvas once again. As they say, third time’s the charm and at that point, the referee had seen enough.

Eleni Gathi vs. Izabela Walczak – MMA
In one of the most action-packed fights on the card, Izabela Walczak secured a late TKO victory against Eleni Gathi. Walczak threw the kitchen sink with hard punches and spinning kicks and back fists. However, Gathi was tough as nails, stood her ground and had her moments throughout the fight. In the end, a body shot in round three was too much to handle for Gathi, who went down to the canvas while absorbing a barrage of punches from Walczak.

Anton Sjöqvist vs. Emil Flystam – Muay Thai
Anton Sjöqvist put on one of the most impressive performances on the card against Emil Flystam in the Muay Thai main event. Sjöqvist was cool, calm and collected as he picked his opponent apart using short but powerful punches, elbows and head kicks. In round three, Sjöqvist started to target the body with well-timed punches and knees full of bad intentions. He even scored a knockdown, but Flystam was tough enough to stay in the fight despite getting dominated. In the end, Sjöqvist walked away with the unanimous decision.

Rohullah Yousufi vs. Renato Vidovic – MMA
In the MMA main event, two-time IMMAF European champion Renato Vidovic took on Rohullah Yousofi in what was undoubtably the best fight of the night. Both fighters put it all on the line and the momentum shifted back and forth as they both rocked each other and took turns landing takedowns. They left it all in the cage, but Vidovic was a bit more effective – scoring a knockdown and going for multiple submission attempts. In the end, that was enough for the hometown favourite to get the win by unanimous decision.
