5 fights official for UFC’s ’badass’ Saudi Arabia card with Khamzat Chimaev in main event

UFC just announced a couple of real bangers for their upcoming UFC Saudi Arabia card that goes down on June 22. Besides the massive middleweight headliner between Khamzat Chimaev and Robert Whittaker, there are a bunch of other interesting fights revealed.

Sergei Pavlovich vs. Alexander Volkov

Top ranked Sergei Pavlovich will return to action after losing his interim title fight against Tom Aspinall in November. The loss snapped his impressive six-fight first-round stoppage winning streak.
He will take on his countryman Alexander Volkov who has three straight wins, all coming by stoppage.
A real heavyweight banger coming up in other words.
Kelvin Gastelum vs. Daniel Rodriguez

Kelvin Gastelum will take on Daniel Rodriguez in a welterweight matchup. The former interim middleweight title challenger Gastelum returned to 170 lbs in December but fell short to Sean Brady.
Rodriguez has back-to-back losses against Neil Magny and Ian Garry and is in big need of a win in Saudi Arabia.
Sharaputdin Magomedov vs. Ihor Potieria

The hyped Sharaputdin Magomedov will return against Ihor Potieria. Former boxer and Muay thai fighter Magomedov is undefeated with a 12-0 record and won his UFC debut via unanimous decision at UFC 294 back in October 2023.
Potieria comes from a win against Robert Bryczek in their Fight of the Night awarded bout in February.
Johnny Walker vs. Volkan Oezdemir

Top ranked light heavyweights Johnny Walker and former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir will clash in a very interesting matchup.
Walker comes from a tough loss against Magomed Ankalaev and is on the hunt for another big win.
Allstar Training Center’s Oezdemir has alternated wins and losses and comes from a victory against Bogdan Guskov in September 2023.
Khamzat Chimaev vs. Robert Whittaker

UFC superstar Khamzat Chimaev will headlined the promotion’s first-ever card in Saudi Arabia, against former middleweight champion Robert ”Bobby Knuckles” Whittaker.
“The main event will be former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker versus 13-0 undefeated Khamzat Chimaev to see who will be the No. 1 contender for the UFC middleweight championship,” Dana White said about the fight.
