In the third round, Karlsson mounted her Slovakien opponent and unleashed a barrage of ground-and-pound until the referee stepped in to stop the fight.

Alfred Olsson lost gruelling slug fest

Light heavyweight Alfred Olsson faced Dzevad Baltic from Serbia in a real slug fest.

In the first two gruelling rounds, Baltic pressured and took Olsson’s back to land heavy strikes. But as the minutes went by, the Serbian fighter looked more and more tired.

In the third round, Olsson found success with basic and effective boxing, working well with his jab, as a tired Baltic held his guard low, trying to counter.

After three tough rounds, Baltic stood as the winner via unanimous decision.

Ali Al-Jasim lost debatable unanimous decision

Bantamweight Ali Al-Jasim, who yesterday defeated Australia’s Daniel Mitchell, faced Italy’s Alessio Ksouri in the eight finals.

A confident Al-Jasim started strong with creative striking and a good takedown, while the second round was more even.

Ksouri controlled the last round on the ground, but never showed any threats to the Swede. However, the judges believed the Italian did enough to win, and gave him the victory via a debatable unanimous decision.
