The lightweight bout between Erik Wahrolen and Baysangur Makaev was labeled the people’s main event ahead of the fight. Both fighters were on fire at the pre-fight press conference and the tension was high when they finally entered the cage.
Wahrolen started the fight with a stiff jab and good follow up punches. Makaev was aggressive with good kicks. By the end of the competitive round, Makaev dropped his opponent with a clean and hard leg kick and ended on top.
After one minute into the second round, Makaev landed a huge body kick and finished his opponent with furious ground-and-pound.
With the win, Baysangur Makaev moved on to 4-1 with four straight wins.
“All the fights I take my opponents down. Next time I can do it in the first round,” Makaev said in the post-fight interview. “I feel very good, I want to stand up like Guram and fight on the ground like Khamzat.”
The young prospect wants to fight for FCR a title next.
“I need a title shot! I want to fight for a title, 66 kilo or lightweight. I want to take it to Allstars.”
