On Saturday September 30, Ola Jacobsson makes his professional MMA debut as he takes on England’s Liam Delsol at Wolf Fight Promotion 8.
In an exclusive interview with Frontkick, the Halmstad fighter opens up on his first fight as a pro and his British opponent.
“I don’t know too much about Liam Delsol, but it’s not so goddamn important at this level,” Jacobsson says. “As an amateur I never knew anything about my opponents, my team did. I took the fight as it came. Sooner or later I want to become good enough to beat everyone.”
“I had a serious concussion”
The Halmstad fighter reveals a serious injury leading up to the fight on WFP8. An injury that very much affected his preparations for the professional debut.
“Since I had a serious concussion in June I lost two weeks of memory. The day it happened I still have no memory of,” Jacobsson reveals. “Last weekend I did my first real sparring in more than three months. I basically trained cardio and grappling ahead of this fight, a bit of technical striking. Well, it is how it is.”

Ola Jacobsson digs WFP
Saturday’s fight card has a lot of rising talent, and Ola Jacobsson is bummed he won’t be able to catch all the action from the cageside.
“Whether I compete or not it’s always a good atmosphere, a lot of fun and jokes. That’s important to me. This is the best WPF card so far. In one way it sucks I’m fighting so I can’t see all the good fights,” Jacobsson laughs. “I really wanted to see Sevan against Söderberg, but it got cancelled because Tobias pulled out.”
Wolf Fight Promotion 8 takes place in Halmstad on September 30. The card will be streamed for free by Sweden’s leading fighting podcast Käftmällspodden. Here’s all you need to know about streaming!
