Welterweights Christian Stigenberg and Theodor Berggren just clashed at FCR 12 in Västerås, Sweden.

It was Stigenberg who won the exciting matchup by unanimous decision after three rounds of high-caliber MMA action.

The first round started with heavy kicks from both sides. Berggren tried to get the fight to the mat but Stigenberg’s takedown defense was solid. At the end of an extremely close round Stigenberg landed som heavy shots.

The standing battle continued in the second round. Berggren tried several spinning attacks. Stigenberg had success in the last minute with a takedown and heavy shots.

In the third and final round “Lången” secured a takedown, landed some heavy ground-and-pound and went for a submission attempt.

“He is a good guy, Theodor,” Christian Stigenberg said after the fight. “I will return to action hopefully as soon as possibile. Maybe in June.”

This marked Stigenberg’ third professional victory. The Swede lost his last fight versus Niko Skonbäck at Superior Challenge 23, and this impressive win sees him return to the win column.
