Bantamweights Bilal Tipsaev and Hecher Sosa just clashed in the highly anticipated co-main event at Västerås Arena.
Bilal pressured hard from the start but Sosa was able to keep the distance. However, with a minute and a half left of the round, Bilal took the fight to the ground but the Spanish fighter eventually got up.
Early in the second round, Bilal secured a standing guillotine that seemed tight, however, Sosa got out. Halfway into the round both fighters were trading shots in the middle of the cage. In the last minute Bilal took the fight to the ground, but his opponent finished strong on the feet.
Bilal landed a clean right in the opening of the final round but his opponent’s chin held up. The Spanish fighter mixed up his striking well, landing knees, kicks and jabs, before taking Bilal’s back.
After the final bell, Sosa stood as the winner via unanimous decision with 29-28, 30-27 and 29-28 on the scorecards.
“Amazing war, thank you Bilal for this war. He’s a warrior,” a tired and emotional Sosa said in the post-fight interview.
