Fight Club Rush, the fastest-growing MMA promotion in Scandinavia, recently announced their next event. For the first time ever, FCR will host a fight card in the Swedish capital as it’s now official that FCR 13 will go down in Solnahallen in Stockholm on August 27.

FCR officials told Frontkick that the event will be headlined by a championship title fight, although they wouldn’t confirm in what weight class the belt will be on the line.

Furthermore, Frontkick has learned that a pair of Swedish prospects – Nabbe Malki and Josefine Modig – are expected to make their professional MMA debuts on the card.

Nabbe Malki is a popular fighter with a strong fanbase in Stockholm, who brings hundreds of supporters with him in attendance when he’s competing. He’s coming off three straight wins on the amateur scene and most recently won the AKFC middleweight amateur title when he defeated Ahouzi Kouame by split decision back in 2019.

Josefine Modig is a current member of the Swedish national MMA team who’s found tremendous success in the strawweight division as of late. She won gold at last years IMMAF world cup in Prauge, followed that up with a silver medal at this year’s IMMAF world championship in Abu Dhabi and then became the Swedish amateur strawweight champion. Most recently, Modig won a unanimous decision against former IMMAF European champion Janika Antinmaa on the amateur prelim portion of last month’s FCR 12.

Zlatko Ostrogonac promises ‘hungry’ and ‘exciting’ up-and-coming MMA talent on the FCR 13 fight card

Frontkick reached out to Fight Club Rush’s CEO Zlatko Ostrogonac to learn more about their expansion plans as well as what the fans in Stockholm can expect ahead of FCR 13.

“This will be the first FCR event outside of Västerås, but not the last one,” Ostrogonac told Frontkick.online. “Our plan going forward is to hold two events a year in Stockholm, give or take. As usual, we’re doing our very best to put together a fight card with evenly-matched and qualitative MMA bouts that mean something.

“About 90 percent of our focus goes towards up-and-coming talent on the rise, rather than fighters who’re on their way down. The reason for that is simple; they are hungry and will always put on more exciting fights for the fans. Those who’ve been following FCR’s previous events know what I mean. See you on August 27th!”

Ostrogonac also let us known that tickets for FCR 13 will go on sale on June 24. For international viewers and fans watching from home, the event will be broadcasted live around the world on UFC Fight Pass.
