With fighters like UFC’s Khamzat Chimaev, PFL’s Sadibou Sy, Bellator’s Oliver Enkamp and ONE’s Zebaztian Kadestam, welterweight is the weight class where we find most of Sweden’s biggest international MMA stars.
At the very top of the Official Swedish rankings sits Khamzat Chimaev, who competed in one welterweight fight against Gilbert Burns, and one catchweight bout against Kevin Holland during 2022.
No. 2 ranked Sadibou Sy stood for last year’s biggest achievement in Swedish MMA as he won the prestigious PFL welterweight title. After four straight victories during 2022, he claimed the belt and the $1 million dollar cash prize.
Seasoned veteran Andreas “Real Steel” Ståhl, who holds the No. 5 spot on the MMA rankings, also ended 2022 in the best way possible as he won the Superior Challenge welterweight title in December.
“This is the best experience so far, it’s an important milestone for me, where I am in my career at the moment,” Ståhl told Frontkick in an exclusive interview.
The Official Swedish MMA Rankings is the only ranking system with focus on Swedish MMA. It includes rankings for each professional division – as well as unique pound-for-pound rankings for Swedish amateur fighters.
