Oskar Jaskari, a former Swedish amateur champion, IMMAF world silver medalist and No. 3 ranked Swedish amateur fighter pound-for-pound, just made his professional debut at Zone Pro League 3 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Jaskari was initially scheduled to face fellow Swede Abbe Husein, but ended up taking on a late replacement in Tajikistan’s Sukhanvar Dustov in a bantamweight contest.
Dustov took the bout on three days notice and came in with a professional record of 1-1. And while Jaskari took the lead early, the unknown Dustov definitely came to fight as he made Jaskari work in the grappling department.
Still, Jaskari controlled a majority of the first round on top in dominant positions and landed good ground and pound. And in the second, a right uppercut followed by a nasty left hook was the beginning of the end as Dustov got rocked and dropped to the ground. The TKO finish officially came at 1:32 in round two when the referee decided that enough was enough as Dustov absorbed strikes on the ground without being able to defend himself intelligently.
With the win, Redline Training Center’s Oskar Jaskari moves to 1-0 as a pro. He passed a good test in his debut and it will surely be interesting to follow his journey from here as he moves on to the next one.
