Swedish boxer Otto Wallin could be facing former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker next, as a stepping stone for a clash with Anthony Joshua or a rematch with Tyson Fury. That’s according to the Swede’s promoter Dmitriy Salita.

“His goal is to get a rematch with Tyson Fury and to fight Anthony Joshua. Tyson is fighting obviously against Chisora in December, but Joshua seems to be in flux,” Salita recently told Sky Sports.

About a month ago, the promoter confirmed to Sky Sports that the Swedish heavyweight is mentioned as a possible opponent for the former champion Joshua.

“I know that Otto’s name is in the mix with some others and it’s something that we’re very interested in and we’ve expressed interest to Eddie (Hearn),” Salita told Sky Sports. “From what I know and from what I understand, Otto is in play for a possible fight with Anthony Joshua.”

Otto Wallin could be bad news for Joshua

According to Salita, there has been discissions about fighting Joshua already, and the manager is positive about that a bout could come togheter, even though the Brit has back-to-back losses against another southpaw in Oleksandr Usyk.

“Otto feels very confident about his chances to win, while it’s possible that Joshua may feel a little intimidated coming off a loss against a southpaw in Usyk. He did a great job, but he lost.”

With 26 professional fights, Otto Wallin’s only loss came to Tyson Fury in 2019. The Swede cut the “Gypsy King” badly over the eye with a heavy left hand, but Fury was able to pull through and win the fight via unanimous decision.
