The 2023 PFL Championship takes place in Washington D.C, with six finals and $6 million on the line.

Last year’s welterweight champion Sadibou Sy took on Magomed Magomedkerimov in the welterweight finals.

Defending champion Sy looked sharp in the first round and landed good striking, but his opponent came back with big punches too. In the close second round, the Swede continued with his sharp striking, landing kicks and knees. Magomedkerimov was able to take the fight to the ground but a confident Sy got right back to his feet.

In the third round, however, the Russian grappler was able to get Sy to the fence and he secured a guillotine choke which eventually forced Sy to tap at the 1:17 mark.

Magomedkerimov was declared the winner and is now a two-time PFL welterweight champion.
