Fight Club Rush 16 goes down on June third at Västerås Arena and it could very well be the most stacked fight card the promotion has put on! FCR officials just added an exciting lightweight bout between Gothenburgs own Sahil “The Prince” Siraj (7-2) and Finland’s Patrik Pietilä (12-11)!
SInce coming to Sweden from Afghanistan surgical striker Siraj has been a prospect worth watching. He viciously and efficiently lined up five straight wins, four via finish, to earn a FCR main event against experienced top-notch wrestler Arbi Mezhidov. Siraj would end up losing a controversial split decision that his team would appeal – but to no avail. Following that Siraj won two more fights by way of knockout before being finished himself by strikes courtesy of Lukasz Rajewski in KSW.
Finnish veteran Pietilä has competed professionally since 2013 and has fought the likes of Toni Lampinen, Ryan Roddy and Usman Nurmagomedov. He is currently 3-4 in his last seven, coming off a second round TKO victory over Moe Ahmadi at FCR 15. Impressively and curiously, Pietilä is perfect when facing Swedish fighters. His win over Ahmadi was his fourth victory over foes from his neighboring country, adding to the list that includes Arman Popal and David Bielkheden.
